Hi everyone!
I’m still living in a haze of tissues and cough medicine, but I just wanted to let you know that singer Chely Wright, one of our Featured Femmes on a Mission, got married to fiancee Lauren Blitzer yesterday!
According to People magazine, the wedding was held at Lauren’s aunt’s Connecticut home. Because Chely is Christian and Lauren is Jewish, the wedding was presided over by both a minister and a rabbi.
As you can see, they both wore beautiful and traditional white dresses as they walked down the aisle in front of more than 200 guests. However, neither one of them donned a veil because, Chely said, “We both like our hair too much!”
Guess Chely will have to stop singing this song:
They both look like princesses; I’m pretty sure that means they are going to live happily ever after.
How adorable are they?
Aww how cute! They look great :)
Oh my goodness, too much pretty in one wedding!! I was particularly excited about this because Lauren co-authored the book “Same Sex in the City: So Your Prince Charming is Really a Cinderella” and maybe it’s a little silly, but this book made me feel so, so much more confident about coming out. Especially because she addressed what it means to look ‘straight’ as a femme. So anyhow thanks for posting!
Glad you liked it Alissa! I didn’t realize Lauren co-authored a book.. I knew she was an LGBT activist but hadn’t heard of her book. Totally going to look it up now!
Also, “So your Prince Charming is Really a Cinderella” reminds me of this picture!
Oo I love that!
The book Same Sex In The City – so your prince charming is really a cinderella Is like my lesbian bible. I discovered the book years and I read it so much I had to buy another copy. AMAZING book which opened my eyes to the idea that – ” just because we like to rock a mini skirt and heel doesn’t mean we automatically like men. Don’t put us into that box. In fact we probably are thinking of a different box ” — That was paraphrased from the book she Lauren Levin and Blitzer wrote. :) Now I know what I am readying again :) I also stumbled upon
