Sorry, Beyoncè, but Girls don’t actually “Run the World”

Beyoncè’s new video is great, but I’m pretty sure girls don’t actually run the world, as I just talked about yesterday. I mean, Beyoncè does, but not girls in general. Maybe the song is supposed to be a sort of call to action rather than statement of fact?

"My persuasion could build a nation." Yes, Beyoncè, it's true. I'd do anything you told me to.

Anyway, it’s fun to watch. Video after the jump!

P.S. – Girlfriend’s first response was: “PETA is going to have a field day with this.”

What did you think of the video? And of the song in general? Do you take issue with her statement that “girls run the world?”

Love the song because I love the use of the Major Lazer sample and the drums. I love the video cause that choreo is sick! And I don’t take issue with her statement, as I don’t think she intends it to be fact but more inspiration. I do, however, take issue with her use of animals as entertainment and fashion. I doubt PETA will care, though. They’re too busy setting the animal rights movement back with ridiculous publicity stunts and fawning over pseudo-vegan celebrities.
